Santhosh D. Andrade

Santhosh D Andrade is a strong advocate for environmentalism. He is a partner of the Art Kanara Artist Group and is an executive member and former Secretary of Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi. "I say that in this path of self-expression while experimenting with the new, and assimilating the changing value of ‘Folk Art’, it gave me a new turn and found my inner self pushing my mind forcing towards the inestimable." All his paintings tell a story of the rustic folk. Delicate emotional figures adorn the canvas, while well-defined elements like trees and moving clouds create an unusual three-dimensional effect. The most interesting part is the splashes of red on the walls, in the air and on the dresses, which propels the entire canvas to a higher energy, sensitivity and oneness. It created a wonder when I viewed my expression which took an exhalant shape when the aesthetic vision is well attuned to deep latent feeling and contemplation, presenting in the Madhubani style of folk art, in my language of colour and imagery. When my inner creative impulse is illuminated with colour and it succumbs to my deepest urge for self-expression, my artistic statement gets reflected on the canvas.
