A.V. Ilango
A.V. Ilango began his artistic journey in 1973 after completing his Masters in Mathematics. Inspired by his childhood memories in Gobichettipalayam, Tamil Nadu, he captures scenes of everyday life filled with agricultural activities, trade, and religious celebrations on his canvas. Over the years, his style has evolved from colourful depictions to minimalist compositions in black and white, influenced by his mathematical background. He focuses on capturing the essence of Indian culture, particularly through studies of cows and bulls, which hold significance in primitive, folk, and classical arts. His recent series, "Bull and Beyond," portrays these creatures in meditative poses with earthy tones.
