K.M. Adimoolam
Born in 1938 in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, K. M. Adimoolam displayed a talent for drawing from an early age, leading him to relocate to Chennai in 1959. Influenced by sculptor Dhanapal, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts, completing his Diploma in Advanced Painting in 1966. Adimoolam's artistic journey, spanning five decades, saw him integrating modern and regional influences. Adimoolam's innate talent for drawing and his keen awareness of his surroundings led him to prioritize the use of lines in conveying his lived experiences. Recognizing the significance of lines in Indian art history, he considered it a powerful element in his artistic expression, drawing inspiration from Indian Painting.
